Meet Bridget, an LPN from our Wichita, KS region!
We asked her, “What gives you the passion to do what you do?” She said, “My patients always brighten my day & the families have always been very gracious for all of my help. It is so refreshing to work where I can be myself and know that I am valued and appreciated. I enjoy getting to know my patients and getting to spend time with them doing what they love. Being able to help make someone’s life just a little bit easier makes me feel like I am truly making a difference.”
When we asked Bridget, “Why Home Care & Why Phoenix?” she told us, “I chose home care because I loved the idea of being able to focus on one patient at a time to ensure that I can provide them the best care possible. I had always heard great things about Phoenix & was inspired by their mission & values. Every single person I have met from Phoenix has been very kind, genuine, & welcoming. I am constantly learning something from my patient & her family.”
We asked, “What would you like to tell others contemplating working at Phoenix Home Care & Hospice?” Her response was, “At Phoenix, I know that I am essential & appreciated by the staff & the families I have worked for. Management is wonderful & I know I can always reach out to them for help or with any concerns I have. I love being able to have a flexible schedule & do what I love! I seriously have one of the best jobs out there! If you are thinking about joining our team, I would say just go for it! You will be glad you did! When you do what you enjoy–it hardly feels like work & the days and weeks seem to fly by!”
Of our X Factor (an important element of our unique Phoenix values), Bridget says, “I believe that a positive attitude, willingness to serve, and dependability are important character traits that make a huge impact on those we have the honor of caring for in this profession. I have always strived to go above and beyond in my work. I also enjoy figuring out my patients’ favorite hobbies and interests and including that in our day-to-day encounters. I love that I am always learning new things and am able to represent such a wonderful company that shares my same values.”
Outside of work, Bridget loves spending time with her family, reading to and playing with her four young children. She and the family love spending time outside, doing activities such as walking, camping, and fishing.
“We hope to start a homestead out in the countryside someday with a massive garden and a bunch of animals. I also really enjoy decluttering and organizing, which has spurred from our family’s desire to live a more simple life and focus on what matters most.”
