Private Care Services and Private Duty Nursing/Adults provides activities of daily living within an individual’s home. These services are designed to eliminate the need for unnecessary institutionalization by creating a safe living environment, fostering independence and facilitating rehabilitation. Services are available to youth and adults who make arrangements for individualized care and private payment for services.
Private Care Services and Private Duty Nursing/Adults do not require a doctor’s order; however, clients in a hospital or skilled nursing facility can request direct private care on their own to avoid being discharged to another care provider.
Private Care Services and Private Duty Nursing/Adults are available for 8, 12 or 24-hour shifts. Hourly services are also available for those needing less than an 8-hour shift.
Private Care Services and Private Duty Nursing/Adults can include:
- Nursing Services
- Care that never sleeps
- Respite Care (to give relief to the regular family caregiver)
- Basic housekeeping
- Provide one-on-one care in a hospital or nursing home situation
- Social outings
- Meal preparation and planning
- Grooming and personal hygiene
- Medication reminders
- Reading, conversation and companionship
- Letter writing
- Pet Care
Who Pays for Private Care Services and Private Duty Nursing/Adults?
Private Care Services and Private Duty Nursing/Adults can be paid by any person, company trust officer or family member that is not otherwise covered by private insurance, workman’s compensation, etc.
