Celebrating Freddie’s Incredible Journey

Celebrating Freddie’s Incredible Journey

Nothing gives our Private Duty Nursing team greater joy than to celebrate the best outcomes for our clients! Read on to hear our client Freddie’s story, as told by his family.

“Freddie, the youngest of four children, was born at just 26 weeks in October 2020 and weighed in at a whopping 610 grams. He has shown us the true meaning of resilience. We spent 333 challenging days in the NICU, almost losing him four times, but he defied all odds, proving the doctors wrong time and time again. He taught us, as seasoned parents, more than we ever thought possible.

We’ve officially been with Phoenix since September of 2021. Since joining Phoenix and with their support through Operation Free Freddie (of which Phoenix started in July of 2021), we’ve found a great team of nurses who have been vital in his care.

After coming home from the NICU that September, we went straight back the PICU for the first time 15 days later, making monthly admissions for the following year. He was constantly sick, but still beating the odds as usual. Then in 2022, things finally started clicking. Milestones became easier and he was flourishing at home with ours nurses right there with him.

Fast forward 1,873 days from his trach placement in March 2021, and he is now trach-free! After overcoming numerous challenges, he’s now thriving at home and is set to start Kindergarten this August. A true lover of country music and the outdoors, Freddie continues to inspire and amaze us every day.”

“No shoes, No shirt, No trach, No problems!”
