Meet Christine, a Registered Nurse from our Independence, MO region!
We asked her, “What gives you the passion to do what you do?” She said, “I have always enjoyed providing care to my elderly friends, my patients. They humble me every day and it makes me feel so good to help them be more comfortable.”
When we asked, “Why Home Care & Why Phoenix?” she told us, “I chose Phoenix 2.5 years ago because I was ready to start my career in Hospice Care, and Phoenix’s culture and philosophy spoke to me most. I stayed with Phoenix because I feel like I am where I belong and the people I work with directly are really easy and fun people to work with.”
We asked, “What would you like to tell others contemplating working at Phoenix Home Care & Hospice?” Her response was, “To others who are looking for a place to work and stay for a while, nowhere is perfect, as we are all humans, but Phoenix has always treated me well in general. I plan to continue to work towards helping us grow and educating other nurses in my new position as Field Staff Trainer to help them be successful.”
Of our X Factor (an important element of our unique Phoenix values), Christine says, “If you ask anyone who knows me, I am always positive, caring, passionate, and smiling most of the time. I pride myself in being kind and respectful to others because I believe that kindness is contagious. In my opinion, it is so important to be as kind, gentle and pleasant as possible in times like this. In a person’s life, when someone is dependent on others, they don’t feel well and are very vulnerable. Being kind has always made my job go much smoother.”
Outside of work, Christine tells us that most of her time is spent with her family–her husband, two sons, and one daughter–and also cleaning her house. “Being a mother and a hospice nurse is basically all I do at this point, and that’s ok.”
Team Phoenix is lucky to have your compassionate and caring heart, Christine! Thanks for all that you do for your clients each day!
