Our field staff are the face of our company, regularly engaging with clients and the public. However, we also want to highlight our incredible Leadership team, who work diligently behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly in our offices. Introducing Kylee Kresin, the Employee Relations/HR Coordinator at our Topeka, KS office! She has dedicated 4 1/2 years to our Phoenix Team.
We asked, “How does your role help support our clients/employees?“
Kylee: “I do answer some phone calls, so customer service in helping get our clients to the right people. I also help employees by being a listening ear and answering any questions they may have regarding Phoenix policies and culture. I love being a friendly face and hope I make feel people feel comfortable in talking to me.”
Have you taken any Culture classes? Which one did you like best? (Culture classes are available to Phoenix employees and serve to enrich career and personal growth for our teams.)
K: “I have taken many Culture classes! My favorite so far has actually been “Thrive in 25!” It was a good class to focus on ourselves, and to appreciate the good we do, as opposed to being dragged down by things that are not in our control.”
Give us one piece of career advice.
K: “Taking a moment to show someone you care about what they have to say, instead of being glued to a screen, boosts team communication and helps everyone to have an open line of dialog about ways we can improve.”
Who has been an important coworker/mentor in your career, and what did you learn from them?
K: “Jeremy Waun has been a huge inspiration in my journey with Phoenix. He will always listen to our employees and come back with rational and well thought out plans of action. He knows how to take the high intensity emotion out and think logically. It has really shown me that patience is key, and we should be focused on a positive end goal.”
What is your favorite memory at Phoenix so far?
K: “Adopting a family for Christmas. We have done this a few times before, but last year I was able to join in taking the gifts to the family. Getting to hear their story and see the genuine happiness on the children’s faces was something I will never forget.”
Give us a work motto to live by.
K: “Success comes in many forms, even when you fail there is opportunity.”
What is one thing you can’t work without?
K: “My glitter highlighters.”
What are two things on your bucket list?
K: “Travel to Pompei & to swim with sharks.”
Tell us a little about you.
K: “I spend a lot of time with my best friends and their kids. I also love to read and to take small road trips with my siblings! Music gives me life, so I also love going to concerts and having fun dressing up!”
