Spotlight is Krystin Morgan from Independence!

Being a great role model for my children, and seeing the difference I can make in just one person’s life, is what gives me the passion to do what I do. I think the turning point in my life, and when I decided I wanted to become a nurse, is when I almost lost my life when I was 13. I had several nurses over this period of time in my life, some were good, and some were bad. I want to be that nurse that people can look back on and say that nurse was the remarkable nurse that impacted my life in a positive way. Knowing that when I am at my client’s home I can take some weight off of their shoulders, even if it is just for a short time, is a great feeling. I strive for excellence in everything I do and it is my hope that it shows. I have a huge passion for helping others, I always have.

I chose home care because I love the idea of being able to take care of someone in their home and in the environment that makes them feel most comfortable. Nobody likes being in the hospital and I believe they have a much better quality of life when they are able to have a nurse come to them and take care of them. I chose Phoenix because I love everything that Phoenix stands for!

Everybody deserves a new beginning and I know personally for my client that is just what Phoenix gave them. To hear her tell it she was just about ready to give up on nursing before Phoenix came along. The Christ-like values of compassion, honesty, and patience that phoenix offers is something I am honored to be a part of.

I would tell others that this has so far been the best/most rewarding place to work yet in my career. These Kiddos have left a huge impact on my life already and I have learned so much, not only has my skill set expanded, but I feel like I have grown as a person also. The people at PHC go above and beyond and If you want a career, and more than just a job, PHC is for you!

To me the X Factor represents the whole package. We should strive to be great in every aspect. I don’t want to be just a nurse, I want to be a great nurse and I believe that takes not only skills and knowledge, but heart, understanding, and compassion for our clients always.
