Meet Shelbi, a nurse from our Jefferson City, MO region!
We asked her, “What gives you the passion to do what you do?” She said, “Getting to see these patients every week and becoming family to them. Seeing their improvement when they have been at their worst for months with you, is the most rewarding part. Also, just being able to help them when they are at their weakest moments and to be with them as they go through rough patches. Not being rushed to another patient is such a blessing to me, being able to spend the time I need with them is the best.”
When we asked, “Why Home Care & Why Phoenix?” she told us, “I chose Phoenix because I wanted to step out of my comfort zone after being in a hospital setting for 7 years, Phoenix had the best options, and I had the best interview experience, they made me feel right at home, made me feel as if I was family already, they Abide by Christ like values as a company, which I really liked. To join home health was by far the best decision I have made in nursing. You learn something new every single day, you get to see your patients every week and know them like they are family.”

Outside of work, Shelbi tells us, “I love to spend time with friends and family, during the summers we spend almost every weekend at the river enjoying the sunshine & good food with friends. I also enjoy hunting & fishing when it’s not miserably hot or cold.”
