I felt it. I knew it was premature because it was only the last day of July. But nonetheless it was still there.
A chill in the air.
Usually the first noticeable one blows in sometime after Labor Day and it jolts me into realizing that summer is officially over. But this freaky cool humidity-free breeze came on July 31st.

This time was different.
It didn’t make me sad. Summer isn’t over. This breeze wasn’t a signaling of something gone.
It was a wake-up callto make sure I enjoy those last, precious, hot, wonderful moments of summer.
There were still several weeks of summer moments waiting to be experienced.
So many of those we serve mourn what is gone from their past. They live within their memories and often sadly find few reasons to embrace the now. It is our purpose to help them discover what they still have before them. We must be that wake-up call.
That breeze reminded me to cherish what I have still to experience. There is a bright sun and 90% humidity just waiting for someone to appreciate it.
