Showcasing the Home Care Services Phoenix Can Provide

Home care services help you or your loved one receive medical attention and meet basic needs without having to rely on an assisted living facility. The idea is to make you as comfortable as possible in a familiar environment. Today’s blog from Phoenix Home Care outlines the many home care services we provide.

In-Home Care

A caregiver from Phoenix Home Care will come to your home for a few hours to help with basic needs. This could be for grooming, including bathing and dressing. We might assist you with light housekeeping, such as dusting or doing the laundry to keep your home clean. We’ll go to the grocery store to pick up food and then cook a meal, followed by doing the dishes. Our staff will also help you move around the house, such as with a walker or in a wheelchair.

The idea of home care services is to lend a helping hand so you don’t have to move into a nursing home. In-home care is so you can relax at home as you recover! Clients qualify for in-home care based on Medicaid eligibility.

Department of Mental Health

In-home care isn’t just for seniors. Staff in our Department of Mental Health provide assistance for people with special needs, including developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, and more. We’re here to help clients stay independent in their own homes!

DMH services provide everyday assistance, including:

  • Bathing and toileting
  • Transfer and ambulation (moving about the house)
  • Skin care and grooming
  • Therapy and exercise
  • Meal prep and feeding
  • Customized services on a case-by-case basis

Our home care services for people with developmental disabilities help improve the quality of life for our clients. Not only do we provide physical support for everyday tasks, but also emotional and social support. Our staff is here for people with down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, neurological disorders, epilepsy, and learning disabilities. Medicaid can help pay for these mental health services.

Private Duty Care

Private Duty Care services go beyond those covered by insurance. They’re also ideal for people who need 8-, 12-, or 24-hour shifts. Private Duty Care services may occur on an hourly basis when you need less than an 8-hour shift. Private Duty Care services don’t require a doctor’s order. The overall goal is to foster independence and create a safe living environment without having to stay a long time in a hospital or assisted living facility.

Home care for private services may entail nursing services for long periods, one-on-one nursing care, transportation, social outings, medication reminders, pet care, companionship, and grooming, among others.
