Phoenix Home Care Inc. Joins United Healthcare In-Network Providers!

Home Care provider choice has been an ongoing challenge and has become the center of many health care debates, especially in the home health care industry. “As an independent home health care provider, Phoenix Home Care has actively supported Provider legislation that has been proposed in the Missouri State Legislature because we believe it is right for the communities we serve,” stated Phil Melugin, President and Owner.

Raising The Home Health Care Quality

Large commercial insurance operations have been a major obstacle in allowing provider choice because of “closed networks.” Phoenix Home Care, Inc. contractually collaborates with an extensive list of Insurance payer resources at national and regional/state levels. “It is a very tough challenge, Commercial payers can lock providers out of their network at any time, thus closing doors and Patient Choice,” stated Gwen Beebe, Vice President of Business Development and Regional Operations. “However, Phoenix has gone to great strides to raise the quality of standards in home care across three states thus a major door has been opened for our communities.”

Phoenix Home Care Joins United Healthcare In-Network Services

Beginning October 1st, 2015, Phoenix Home Care will be an IN-NETWORK Provider for United Healthcare participants. “Until now, our only alternative was to turn away United Healthcare participants due to closed networks, thus Patient Choice fell out of scope. We are very excited and honored to offer New Beginnings in health care at home to individuals that “Choose” Phoenix Home Care as their trusted home health care provider,” remarks Beebe. United Healthcare is working to make the health care experience better for the patient and family, the physician, and home care providers. The health care environment is complex and United Healthcare has recognized Phoenix Home Care for their quality services provided by experienced health care professionals.
United Healthcare is one of the largest health insurance options available to our communities. Being an in-network provider opens doors for those needing skilled nursing services, physical, occupational and speech therapies, medical social worker consult, assistance with personal care and bathing as well as Private Duty Nursing for Children with Special Health Care needs. In addition, Phoenix provides a wide array of home care services including Private Duty Care Services such as nursing, nurse-aide or companion level assistance with activities of daily living from a few hours a day to around-the-clock care; state funded In-home services (homemaker chores, errands and shopping, personal care, education, med set-ups and reminders); Consumer Directed Service where Phoenix serves as a state vendor to provide administrative support services; and Hospice.
